This moment in your life is a chapter in your story.

There will be times where life feels "heavy," uncertain, and unwavering. Moments where you feel disconnected and feel as though the fog won't lift. There will be also times for celebration, smiles, laughter, and joy.

My hope is to walk alongside my clients to help them make sense of their personal histories, become more mindful of their emotions and reactions, and gain knowledge of themselves. Helping them find restored hope. Walking them through the Book of Life, through its joys and struggles.

Hi, I'm Shannon. I am the owner of Mindful Emotions Counseling, LLC. My passion for mental health and helping others, stems from years of meeting individuals from many backgrounds. I have experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults in individual therapy.

I am passionate about helping clients with Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Depression, Social Cultural Issues, Trauma, Grief, Life stressors, Adjustment disorders, Self Esteem, and Neurodiverse populations.
My approach to treatment is person-centered and eclectic. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Approaches, and Trauma Informed Care.  In 2021, I became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I believe that this has helped me to truly understand how trauma can impact my clients.

I further enjoy using humor, art interventions, play interventions, and music in my sessions. Therapy does not always have to be so serious!

My belief is that in life, everyone will go through situations that will test them.  Believing in yourself and your abilities will pave the way to overcoming those obstacles. As a Therapist, I strive to make sessions comfortable, safe, and provide my clients an atmosphere where they can truly be themselves.
